A security research company has found an Android vulnerability named ‘Stagefright’ that would allow an attacker to access Google Android users’ phones and spy on the victim and steal their data., and all the hacker would need is the victim’s phone number.
This type of attack is different from spear phishing attacks (which require the user to click to open a file such as an attachment or link). The attack does not require any action from the user.
The hacker can also access the microphone and camera and applications on the phone. There are no bug fixes yet however Google is working on a one.
