According to ANZ’s Head of Global Transaction Banking, there is an increase in the frequency and sophistication of attacks related to cybercrime against businesses. Our hyper-connected nature of digital makes it extremely easy for cybercriminals to fraudulently access information and systems.
Most of this goes unreported due to the negative impact it may have on an organisation. The most common method of attack is through the use of social engineering (which is the intentional influence of an employee’s judgement or general interest). This includes phishing attacks (for example: where an employee is tricked into clicking a link in an email that opens an infected file).
